Georgia made an image so that we are able to post it onto social networking sites to get as many people involved in our project as possible. This allows people to voice opinion.
As I have mentioned before we have found an application, Mosaik where you are able to create mosaics using peoples profile pictures off their Twitter accounts. As we are aware that there is only a short amount of time left before our project and our original idea was too complicated to produce in the amount of time that we were given. So we have decided to produce something that is simpler then our original idea.
We are aiming to use coding so that the image is slowly revealed as people use the hashtag and then their Twitter profile pictures will add to the mosaic as a piece of the final image.
On our tutorial on the 11th March we discussed the problems we have had with the coding such as:
- No luck on websites and processing forums
- dreamtemplate.com, live feed of tweets based on hashtags. May help on transfering code so it works
- printmosaic.com, need coding. API helps with creastion, link broken
- Final image, copyright protest?
- Steal an iconic image and create something new adding our own authorship
- Image made up of text
- Try and get a back up plan
Because of these complications we were thinking of using a different platform as this is proving to be extremely difficult. However we then decided that we would create a mask using coding and people will be able to tweet in using a certain hashtag. Their tweets will then reveal an image rather than trying to code images and tweets to make a mosaic.
However, this still leaves us with the issue of not knowing what to use as our background/final image. We had the idea of stealing something that is bigger than someones Instagram Pictures and stealing something iconic and recognisable by everybody. Thus highlighting more how easy it is to breach copyright.
Georgia then did some research into what our final image could be;
This website creates live Twitter feeds using Hashtags from peoples Tweets. These are usually used at events as it creates a free platform for advertising.

On this website you are able to select a topic and it produces a constant live feed of all Tweets containing this topic. You are able to add columns so that more than one hashtag can be displayed at a time. This helps with our project as we want to be able to make a constant live feed of Tweets and images.

Through doing more research I think we have come to the conclusion that this idea is going to be harder than we initially thought. If we were only doing a live feed of tweets from Twitter it wouldn’t be as complicated, however, as we want to use images and text we think it is going to be harder as none of the coding is not in the layout that we would like it to be in and we are unsure on how to change the coding to re arrange this.
